Job purpose

  • Head of Supply Chain has full responsibility for creating and implementing strategy for the entire supply chain processes including manufacturing. Ensure cost savings, compliance and streamline the procurement, logistics and material management processes.

Job Responsibilities (include but not limited to)

  • Lead and deliver the company's stategic supply chain and procurement objectives, with a strong focus on cost optimization, operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Develop and implement complete strategy of Supply Chain Management and Manufacturing for East Africa
  • Responsible for achieving annual cost saving targets through effective coordination of the Materials Management, Procurement and Warehouse operations
  • Identifying and constantly analyzing the processes and procedures and streamlining for effectiveness, focusing on cost savings, compliance and improving efficiencies, both internally and externally
  • Support the analysis of Customer SLA’s, recommend improvements and ensure efficiencies
  • Manage, motivate, encourage and supervise the procurement and materials/logistics team towards achieving desired goals and optimal outcome
  • Ensure that the Materials Management operations comply with the rules and regulations of the customs processes according to regions legislations
  • Support KAG Material Management Strategy by overseeing the monitoring, analysis and optimize processes and operations thereof
  • Oversee the activities of the procurement team to ensure cost savings and commercial opportunities are utilized
  • Develop best practice processes by evaluating, improving, implementing and managing all purchasing initiatives promoting good procurement practice
  • Work closely with the various operations teams – support strategic sourcing of project requirements
  • Drive the optimization of Purchasing processes, inventory management, operational supplier management to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness as well as supplier reliability
  • Control over procurement spend and ensuring optimal payment terms and favorable Service Level Agreements for the local subsidiary
  • Oversee the logistics for the glue manufacturing in Ethiopia managing the key stakeholders dealing with inventory, raw materials, logistics, customs & duties

Your Profile You contribute

Educational and professional Experience

  • Undergraduate degree Preferably in: Business, Supply chain
  • MBA in strategic management or purchasing and logistics or supply chain management 
  • Experience: 8-10 years plus experience working in a food, beverage or packaging industry
  • Min. 4 years in similar role and managing a team
  • Relevant professional qualification and membership 

Technical Skills

  • Deep understanding of import and export in East Africa Region
  • Experience in SAP MM module
  • Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and strategic management skills
  • Ability to manage customer data effectively
  • Pricing strategy and margin analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, hands-on experience with CRM systems
  • level of willingness to travel 31-60% of the time
